One headlight doesn't work after jump start

A few days ago I left my keys in the ignition (in off mode I think, though they might have been in accessory) and found when I needed to turn it on that the battery was dead. The lights had been left switched 'on' and that is almost certainly why the battery died, but usually, when the car is off, the lights go off too. I assume that leaving the keys in the ignition somehow disrupted this and left the lights on.

Well, I jump-started the car no problem, however, now the left head light doesn't work at all, and the right does, though they don't shut off automatically as usual when I turn the engine off and open the door! Strange! Both marker lights stay on as well. They do all shut off, when I switch them off manually.

Any ideas? The main thing is fixing the left headlight so it at least comes on. I'm sure the bulbs are fine but that there is something weird happening in the electrical system...

Welcome to the forums! On my Corolla, the headlights will only go off when I switch the headlight stalk to 'off'. However, I was reading in another thread a few days ago about the headlights going off automatically once the door is opened so it must be how some of them were wired in the US.

As for the left headlight not working, I'd suggest checking the fuse in the engine compartment. There's one fuse for the left headlight and one fuse for the right headlight.

Here's a diagram from my factory owner's manual to show where it is (#20 on the diagram) -
