I would go with the MBs. I prefer their look.

I would stick with 14s but I like the smooth ride that thicker tires provide.

MBs definitely, but I'd go at least 15s, if not 16s. There's something not quite right in my mind when I see a car with mags that are still the same size or not much bigger than the factory steel wheels, and 16s are the best trade-off in my mind between style and comfort. Then again, I don't have to worry about winter/snow tyres or anything like that so I can afford to splurge on excellent all-weather (well, all-Australian-weather) tyres that'll last me a good 2-3 years.

I love cars with small rims and big fat tires. The smaller the rim and the bigger and fatter the tire the better it looks to me

I like the MB's better. The Momo's are too 'spokey' in my opinion. Also, Momo wheels are more susceptible to damage (such as buckling) from pot holes as they're made from a softer material which is more suited to Italian roads, just like MAK wheels.

What material are they made from?

Alloy, of course. Except they're made from a much softer alloy than most Japanese and Chinese manufactured wheels.
