Adding Cluster W/Tach Need Help!!

Hey,

Am new to the forums I have a 1997 Toyota Corolla 1.6L Base Model 5 M/T. And it does not have a tachometer so I picked up a 1993 Corolla Cluster with tachometer and I have plugged it in but have one small problem I plugged in the three plugs but am not getting a reading on the RPM. Everything else is working fine though.

Thanks for the help in advanced.

You will need to get a wiring diagram and find out which wire has tach signal to cluster and see if its missing because it didn't have a tach or if its there and not receiving RPM signal.

Yea, thats what I was thinking but I kept reading that it was plug-n-play so I was a bit confused. But nevertheless I took the rpm signal wire from the diagnosis plug up in the front engine bay and brought it through the firewall to the cluster wiring harness.

Weird, I have a '96 base model, 1.6L, 5-speed and mine was plug and play with the tachometer cluster. It sounds like you got yours working though, I am curious what the difference is...
