Australia Reducing Cabin noise (E100 Sedan)

Hi guys

I was wondering if anybody had some tips towards reducing general road noise penetrating into the cabin of my E100 Corolla Sedan.

Any material or tips will be greatly appreciated.

CAR SPECIFICATIONS:
- Toyota Corolla (E100) CSi Sedan
- Manufactured 1997
- Distance covered 150,000km
- Engine 1.6L coupled with 5 speed manual (no modifications)

thanks

Welcome to the forums! You could use sound deadening material such as Dynamat on the roof, inside the doors, inside the boot (trunk), and even under the carpet if you wanted to get serious. A cheaper alternative would be to turn the volume on the stereo up

Thanks for the reply

I have already put some dynamat in the doors and noticed a considerable difference on the highway, but lining it on the roof and floor will help as well.

Before I put my new seats in I will pull the carpets up and start laying the dynamat but what type material should i use to re-glue the carpet to the floor?

No problem . The carpet isn't glued in place (or at least it's not on my SE Limited Corolla), so you should just be able to lift it up and lay the sound deadening without any problems

Sweet thanks

Do you know how much new front seats and four new door seals would cost?

Brand new front seats or upgraded secondhand replacements? (or are you talking about getting your current seats reupholstered?). The seats and door seals you could get from a wrecker or junkyard (would be best to get the door seals brand new from Toyota if possible). Sprinters share the same front seat bolt locations, as do the hatchback and wagon Corollas, so you could get the seats out of one of those if you find someone wrecking one

Cool I was planning to buy brand new door seals from Toyota but would you know how much new seals cost?

When it comes to the seats I am not sure if i should buy full new seats or just get the old seats refurbished. The fabric is in good condition but the cushions on the seat are awful and very tired. I am little bit cautious towards getting cushions from the wreckers as i might be just buying another bad cushion.

Although I am going to the wreckers to buy another 12 volt cig lighter as mine is faulty.
