radio install

[1994 Corolla Kid]

Does anybody know how to install an aftermarket radio in a 94 corolla the right way i kind of did the half ass way and it looks bad so i ordered a new plastic surround piece for the climate control so i can do it the right way thanks please help

It would help if you took a picture of what you did, not sure what you did exactly by your description?

Way I did it:

1. Remove radio surround.
2. Remove stock radio and remove the brackets that hold the radio.
3. Install brackets onto new radio.
4. Hook up metra kit wires for toyota car to my Alpine wires.
5. Plug into stock harness and bolt radio with brackets in.
6. Push radio surround back on.

Done.
