Australia Installing extra interior lights (Neons/LED))

Hi guys

I was wondering if I could get some help installing some interior lights in the cabin of my car.

Basically what I want to do is to place extra lights in my car that switch on and off when the door opens and closes similar to the interior cabin light that I have in the roof.

I am a novice at this type of thing so a detailed answer what be greatly appreciated as I am not an expert with electronics.

Thanks

Jake

The easiest way is to take your dome light off and test the wires for the door setting with a test light. I'm not sure if the system uses a ground bypass or not to operate the light, but more than likely there will be 2 grounds and 1 power wire, so when the door opens, the spring loaded switch completes the ground circuit and light comes on. I hope that helps.

HI

mmmmmmm hang on a minute yeah I think that would work. Here I was thinking that i should complety avoid the roof light but if i just run some wires from that light into other lights then that would be job done

A few days ago a picked up some map reading lights from a Camry so I am going to install them thanks.

THanks
