How to remove Rear O2 Sensor

Trying to replace the rear O2 sensor on a '07 US Corolla.
The rubber boot came out of the body ok, but the connector seems to be stuck inside the box-frame. If I pull too hard, I'm afraid I'll pull the connector apart inside. Then I would be really screwed. How do I get the connector out?

I assume that was meant to say '97 Corolla and not '07 Corolla . Wish I could help but the JDM Corollas didn't come with a second oxygen sensor. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you.

Oops, either I can't count or I can't type .. . or both.
Yup, I intended to say '97.

After my original post, I eventually found another post that said something about removing part of the console and carpeting on the passenger side of the vehicle?? Is it really THAT diffucult? I can touch the connector from below if I poke a finger into the opening, but I just can't get enough slack in the cable to pull it out. Even if they did intsall it from above (inside the cabin), you would think they would leave enough slack to be able to pull the connector out thru the hole underneath and let you poke it back when the change was done.

Hey

I've not done this job yet. I'm thinking about doing it once it gets a little warmer outside. But i've read that thread as well the one with the carpet pulling back and if you take off the seat it can be easier.

Could you please update this once you complete the job as i would be interested on how it went for you accessing the connector

Thanks
-leo

Ohh ok, I thought you'd done that part already. You need to remove the front passenger's seat, then the plastic kick panel going along the edge of the door (only held in by clips and a plastic nut against the firewall on the cabin side), pull back the carpet a little and you'll be able to see the connector
