for my 1996 dx. but my question is will i be able to fit 16 inch rims AND lower the car ? the springs lower it only 1.6" so idk if it will be a problem.

Yes, you'll be able to use 16" wheels after you lower it with those springs. The only way you'd encounter problems is if you used very large tyres, or bought wheels that were the completely wrong offset and/or width.

Yup, with a wide set of tires, it'll rub the inside and when you are making right or left turns which is quite annoying and not good.

Yep you'll only have alignment issues and a crappy ride, but you'll think it looks cool!

Lowering is good for the track but stupid for the street. (My opinion)

As long as you don't get tyres that are too tall or too wide then you shouldn't have any problems. However, there are many variables involved when it comes to the wheels. Don't go for anything with an offset lower than 35p and don't go any wider than 7.5 inches. Also, if the 16" wheels were factory wheels off another car, make sure the centre bore size is compatible with your Corolla. If they're aftermarket wheels then the centre bore size will be quite large so you won't have to worry. If you stick to those rules then you shouldn't have any trouble
