ae101 fxgt bumper onto a ae101 trueno?

Does anyone know if a front bumper off an fxgt (like this one: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-366172359.htm ) will fit onto an ae101 trueno? I realise they are both ae101 chassis.. but unsure if it will fit? anyone tried this at all? cheers

Welcome to the forums! This is Roy, right? The AE101 Trueno bumper requires modification to fit on the AE101 FX-GT so I can only imagine that the AE101 FX-GT bumper would require modification to fit on the AE101 Trueno. Can't say for sure as I've never tried. I might be able to give it a crack next time I'm at the junkyard.

Guilty - its me. Kinda test fitted a corolla bumper onto a levin at pick a part today - seemed to be reasonably close, but more square in front. rather than requiring metal work, may require acquiring the metal bar that goes across the car that the bumper screws to - could be wrong, as this part was missing from the one at pick a part.. hence the question remains....

would be great to find someone who has actually done/ tried to fit one, as everyone I've messaged/ spoken to has a idea that it wont fit - but without actual knowledge of why/ experience...

Oh ok cool. Yeah it might just require replacing the bumper bar but I suppose there's only one way to find out. The Corolla hatch at one of the Pick-A-Parts up here is missing the bumper bar too so I can't check. I'm waiting for a white one to come in so I can grab the FX bumper.

Damn, that's a shame. I'm sure you'll think of something. There's a guy I know who can make custom made strut braces. He made one for his AE101 Levin that looked similar to TRD one a while ago. It wasn't as pretty, but functioned in the same way.

Speaking of the TRD strut brace, I installed it the other day. When it arrived it had various chips and a bit of rust where it bolts to the firewall, so I sent it off to the powder coaters.
