1994 corolla died at while parked won't start

Good morning,
I am trying to avoid the towing bill. It was parked at idle and just quit. No spark. I have been told that if I pull the distributor that the igniter is there and is probably dead but from what I have read on this forum it could be a number of things. It cranks over fine. Any suggestions for the novice? Thanks!

On my 95 Tacoma the distributor has a condensor in it, the condensor caused my no spark condition. 8 dollars later and SEVERAL tests including, crank position sensor, coil, replaced ignitor with a known good one, and checking grounds and fuses, I was rolling again.

Why yes a condenser does sound much cheaper! Thanks for the reply, I'm going to run some tests and I will let you know.

AM2 Fuse! Who would have thought it could have been so easy? I guess the original fuse was old. I can not figure why else it would just pop.....
Thanks for the comments!

Well, in my case the distributor was causing the fuse to blow. It took a whole week of troubleshooting to figure it out, but when I put the old distributor back in it would blow the fuse immediately. New distributor, new fuse, back on the road! Glad to have helped...
