strut post stripped looking for a solution

Hey

My problem is. I bought new complete struts. and wen i went to put on this nut. It just kept spinning when it hit the bottom. So in order to get it off i pryed it up, when turning.

Now i've got a stud which is stripped at the bottom and have a few good threads at the top. This is what i originally did, found a nut to use as a spacer than tightened it down.

But now i've got this squeaking noise coming from that side which is really annoying.

So my question is if any of you guys would know how to fix this problem.

I'm hoping to avoid taking the strut out and changed the rubber top to the original one for now.

This is some pictures of the stud with the nut off. Unfortunately my camera is not the best. But i think you get the point.

And here is the picture with the nut(used as a spacer) on top with the remaining good threads exposed.

Thanks

My friend was saying how about using lock tight on the threads?

He did warn me thought that if i use it. It will be impossible to get it off unless i heat it up. That may be a possibility.

I would take it back off, cut of the old bolt and re weld a new bolt on...... Or change the top like speedy25 suggested.

That's fine, your spacer is probably just to big. Just go to the hardware store and get a bunch of washers for that sized stud.

Keep stacking them until you have yourself the right height. Then put the nut on and make sure it goes on snug. If it ain't that isolator will just keep squeaking.

Just use blue lock tight, I see no reason why you would need the red in this application (which requires heat to get off).

If you find it still squeks then just replace the isolator. Amazon has 'em for 30 a piece.
