Canada Replacing Driver's side mirror...HELP!

I just bought my 1997 Corolla last November and have to say that I am quite happy with it...
Yesterday I went out to go to the store and lo and behold!!! there were the pieces of my driver's side mirror on the ground next to the car!!!
So I have to replace the mirror and after looking around for the part I discovered that it APPEARS that it ISN'T necessary to replace the ENTIRE mirror (including the housing) and that it may be possible to just replace the glass itself? I've never seen this before so I'm not sure...It is just a standard manual mirror.
If anyone has any info about this and can maybe direct me to some more info, installation instructions or ANYTHING, I would be eternally grateful...
Never quite realized just how MUCH I used it until it was GONE!!
Thanks all...
~Dee~

Not sure where to even get just the mirror itself. Plenty of manuam mirrors with housing on Ebay for really cheap, or try junk yard. Just simpler me thinks.

any glass windshield shop should be able to order the mirror for you. Even the dealership may have it. You have to say mirror, no housing. Some mirrors have adhesive already on the back, some do not. Some drops of glue should make it stick. It was $25 for my Tercel years back at a glass/ fender shop.

ive never heard of replacing just the glass but i know u can get a whole new mirror housing and all for like 25 dollars on ebay or u can go to a salvage yard and prolly find one cheap and they are super easy to replace. i replace mine for 10 bucks. got the mirror from junkyard. installation is pretty self explanatory

The black trim around the mirror control pulls straight off. Then behind it there will be 2-3 10mm bolts that you will need a socket to remove. Then reverse to reinstall new one.
