Hello everyone. I purchased an ebay JDM exhaust header on ebay because I don't want another manifold to crack on me.(those cast ones suck and always crack). Which is why I invested in a ebay one. Now my question is this I have a 96 geo prizm with the 1.6L 4AFE engine. My oxygen sensor is a screw in kind, but on the ebay header it has the 2 bolt kind that you bolt in with 2 nuts. How can I make this work?? is there a special adaptor I can buy to make this work or am I going to have to return this ebay special that I got??? I just need to figure this out as soon as possible, thanks for any and all replies. I did read the header install on the 7AFE in the DIY threads, but his was straight foward and he had the bolt in oxygen sensor. My oxygen sensor pre-cat is a screw in type.... what should I do???
1. you did buy the wrong kind, they have two versions. one with the flange (two studs) and one for the thread in senor.
2. they do make an adapter that attaches to the studs and then lets you thread a sensor into it.
bitter you are right. I did make a mistake, but thank god for that adaptor. Do you have any links or sites or know about where to buy this adaptor??? please help me out, i'm sick of this exhaust leak.
I honestly do not know. I think you could alternately install a different sensor..if you're over 100,000 miles its probably not so good anymore anyways. How many wires does your sensor have? 2 or 4?
just checked it out. it is a 2 wire sensor one wire is blue other is white. car has 189 thousand miles, so yes a new sensor would be the most sensible thing to do. i'm just needing that adaptor plate or if they make a 2 wire sensor that bolts in with the 2 nuts it would be great. Let me know what you think? I hope to get these installed by tomorrow.

I know of a site based in the UK that sells the adapter, but haven't seen them anywhere else. Might be easier to just replace the oxygen sensor with the 2-bolt flange type like Bitter suggested.

Buying an adapter is silly. Go to the parts store and get another o2 sensor. They come in "all flavors." it shouldnt be hard to get a bolt in 2 wire sensor.
If for some reason that doesnt work, find someone who can weld an o2 bung on your pipe.
just a follow up on this thread. If anyone is interested in installing headers for a 93-97 1.^L 4AFE engine the bolt on sensor that I used is from a 1994 toyota corolla. it bolts on perfectly and the sensor connector bolts right up. I paid $45 for the oxygen bolt on sensor. This 1994 year worked perfectly for 1996 geo prizm. thank you all for the help.

I had the same problem too. I was at the parts store and turns out that there are 8 different O2 sensors. Is the sensor you got fed or cali? I had one hole for my header and had to get a Fed 1996 O2 sensor. Just wanted to have some clarification in case anyone else runs into this problem.
There are only TWO types of O2 sensors. Simply, one has 4 wires and a heater. The other style has 2 wires. Yes your parts guys has 8 numbers but thats because of mounts and wire length and connectors all being different.
If it fits and has the same amount of wires you can make it work. PAY ATTENTION to the directions in the package. I have found out recently that some 4 wire setups dont always use the same wire colors all the time.
