Just ughh. Deer hit on my Corolla, with pics....

Well, knew it was just a matter of time before somebody smacked a deer around here, and my 17 year old daughter found a nice one. Thankfully, she didn't get hurt, or her younger sister who was also in the car with her.

But now that the "whooo hoooo, everybody survived except the deer" celebrations have passed, now the dirty work begins and as always, it falls on my shoulders. sigh. Anyway, the hood took most of the hit, but part of the other "stuff" was bent back as well.

I've got quite a bit of "stuff" pulled out of the front end already, but am trying to figure out how to get the "support bracket" pulled out. It's the bracket that has the yellow R134a sticker on it.....how does this piece of sheet metal get removed? I've remobed the bolt that goes into the fender. Do I have to cut it out of there?

Anyway, as promised, here's a couple "fun pics". Thanks for any suggestions.

I think it's called a radiator support tie bar.

That sucks. But I kind of dig the look of the reversed corner light.

drill the spot welds out, you'll need to pull the bumper cover, bumper, headlights, etc. you'll see the spot welds, get a spot weld bit (special design for cutting them out), and goto town. New one can be bolted in and have an auto shop tack some welds in a few spots to keep it lined up.

front fenders may need to come off as well...not sure.

You wanna buy my old geo for a parts car?

I've got the headlights and a few other things out of the way, but was scratching my head on the upper support, so, called it a day.

The parts i need I checked out on Rockauto.com, and the prices were reasonable I thought. I'll keep your Geo in mind, though. Thanks.

Just Fixed Mine

I hit a deer with my 95 Corolla 2 weeks ago on the way home with one of my Grandchildren. Took out the grill, right marker light assembly, right headlamp assembly and bent the right front fender leading edge , buckeled the hood and bent the radiator support bar.

Well, I located a place in Winston salem, NC bought 2 new headlamp assemblies, marker lamp assembly and grill for 70 bucks NEW. Pushed the hood out with my hands and pulled the radiator support bar out with a rope and muscle. Took about 5 hours total.

Can be done if not to severely damaged.

Good luck.
