Need a new starter or starter relay?

1995 Corolla

About 20% of the time, mostly in the mornings, the car will not start. The only thing you can hear is one click. I've tried searching a bit, but got conflicting answers. I plan on taking out the starter, and get it bench tested, but would be nice to have an idea ahead of time.

Thanks

The contacts are inexpensive and fairly easy to change once you have the starter out. I would change the contacts over installing a new solenoid just from all the quality problems with parts lately ESPECIALLY autozone.

SInce your car starts easily MOST of the time all the other parts are OK.
