Need Advice: Which timing belt kit BRAND

Are they all the same? Dayco, goodyear gates, crp,beck, dorman etc.

Also, is the Geo the same as toyota?

And will the 1.6 Kit, work on the 1.8?

1. Are they all the same? Dayco, goodyear gates, crp,beck, dorman etc.
A: you get what you pay for. I would pay extra and get Toyota OEM, but I do have a Goodyear belt on one car and it seems to be ok after 2 years.

2. Also, is the Geo the same as toyota?
A: pretty much, but you have to check it out. A lot of things are different.

3. And will the 1.6 Kit, work on the 1.8?
A: No, I don't think so. Get the one for your 1.8

Gates is a common brand for OEM's. I've been getting some nice kits with Continental belts that are nice quality.

On our cars almost anything will be reliable.
