Regulator or alternator?

My 94 Corolla (1.6 4AFE, 5spd) has developed a charging issue I think. The battery light comes on intermittently.

I hooked up my multimeter to the battery and it was at 12.5 with the engine off. I started the car and it went down to 12.1, then I revved the engine and it went up to 13.5 or so. The cooling fan kicked on and it still stayed at that same voltage. Wires at the alty are good and tight, and the battery terminals are clean also. Battery is fine.

Is there any way to test the regulator and alternator separate so I know which part to get?

Take your car to Advance Auto. We test the battery, starter, and alternator in the car. I had a tC with a bad alternator in today.

When you want sports car handling, you buy a sports car.

Do you have any idea if Oriellys does this? No Advance auto near me.

The main reason I'm asking is because Oriellys lists a voltage regulator for my car. Not sure if it's for a different system or not. I hate to throw parts at a problem.

Yes, and it's inside the alternator or at the very least attached to the back of it which means you have to take the alt off to replace it.
