gen 7 Door lock relay question

Well I'm new at the forum and new in the car too. Well my car is a corolla s/w 93 and my problem is that the lock switch works only to open the locks but not to close them. Somebody told me that the issue can be fix by changing the door lock relay, so i got one from ebay fromo a corolla 96. So I headed up to the car and try to find this relay since I have the book and it says that is in the passenger side close to the top part, but I took everything apart and I can't find it anywhere. Please I need help with this issue and i been looking around for a threat about this but can't find one and I been looking for two days straight.... any way i can get a picture of where is located or something? I will appreciate all the help you guys can bring me. Thanks

The door lock control relay is located behind the dashboard, on the passenger's side, which would explain why you haven't been able to find it . I've never needed to replace one personally, but I suspect it will be awkward to get to without removing the dashboard. As an alternative, remove the glovebox, put your hand up there and try to find the plug.

Here's a diagram:

Kiwi I took all that side almost apart, I took out the glovebox and even the a/c duct of that side and inserted my hand in there looking for it and even looked with a flashlight with no luck... The only thing that is left there is the a/c fan and the evaporator (I guess that's the name lol) but I really don't know where is it at unless is behind all that and is really close to the firewall... Btw thanks for the photo

No worries. In that case you'll have to remove the dashboard. I've seen Corollas with the dashboard removed at the junkyard before and the door lock relay sits right at the top.

Well find out where is the door lock relay in my s/w.. is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND since I found out that the year has a lot to be with the wiring. The results are that that specific relay does not exist on the 93 s/w apparently. Don't know why is that, but the problem is under the drivers side, sort of a black box that says something like thief warning or something like that, kind of a black box with two orange plugs that goes to it. Well the issue is that the box receives the signal but apparently there's something happening with the signal that gets lost or something inside the box. Try one from a junkyard which to my luck was the only one available and happens to do the same. It will unlock the locks but won't lock them. I'll try in another junkyard to see if I can find a working one, but for now it is what it is.
