Question Remote won't unlock doors

A few days ago my remote stopped working on the door locks. I replaced the battery in the remote with a new one, and the red light lights up when I press the button. I also replaced the car's battery (it was needed replacing anyway), so I've ruled bad batteries out as a possible cause.

Weird thing is that the power door locks work from inside the car. As in the ones on the armrests. But when I use the remote nothing. No clicks, no sounds, nothing.

Anyone know what might be wrong? I've read that it might be a fuse or control module issue. Anyway right now I'm stuck having to leave one of the doors unlocked all the time because neither or my doors can be unlocked with key (previous owner says someone tried to break in and ruined the keyholes).

Thanks!

This is unlikely, but the automatic door locking/unlocking function may have turned itself off. You can try to turn it back on by following these instructions from the original user manual for the factory alarm system:

http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamo...doorunlocklock

If that's not the case then the remote may have become unpaired from the alarm system somehow. In which case, try the steps below the locking/unlocking function in the link above, labelled 'Remote Control Programming'.

I did option 1 and no change. I wanted to do option 2 but couldn't find the control unit. Is it under the steering wheel area? I found two ports but nothing that looked like the unit described in the manual.

nvm previous question. I located the RS3000 ecu - it's under the driver's seat. I tried re-linking my remote to the ecu via above method but the fob still doesn't open the doors. Thing is I've ruled out the remote not working because during linking the security light comes on and when I press the button to establish link the the security LED immediately goes off. So I'm almost certain that the unit is receiving signal from my fob.

this has really got me stumped. if the unit is receiving signal fine from my fob what else could it be? actuators are fine because power doors work from the armrests. possibly electric issues between the rs3000 ecu and the door actuators?
