New Exhaust Pipe loud noise

Hi,

I had to replace the pipe between the manifold and cat. The previous flex pipe was damaged. Anyway now i have the new one in, but i feels like the new one is buzzing up against the frame somewhere. I ordered the correct part and everything. Is there a way to add extra support to the pipe? Maybe screw in a clamp to the floor of the vehicle?

Any thoughts?

By buzzing up against the frame, do you mean it's contacting the frame where it's not supposed to?

yes, it may be. for example, going up a steep hill makes the noise much louder. And even turninig up a hill can cause this as well. It does not sound like an exhaust leak.

Does it only happen when you're driving? Not trying to be Captain Obvious, but have you checked to make sure everything was tightened properly? I'm only saying because I've done it before, and I just got home from tightening my former boss' O2 sensor the auto shop installed. She thought her engine was gonna blow and it was just a loose sensor.

If it happens when you're in park, jack the car up and get a piece of rubber hose. Stick one side in your ear and the move the other end around the area's you think noise is coming out. It helps pinpoint odd noises. I've used it to find exhaust leaks, a header leak on a VW, bad gaskets, etc.
