auto to 5 speed manual swap

I've got a 95 automatic 4afe. Do I need the ecu from a 95 or can it be from any year from 93-97? Can I use a 7afe ecu or does it have to be 4afe?

You need a 4AFE from any 93-97 with M/T for the correct ECU to keep it from throwing the CEL (check engine light) or doing any rewiring. I just converted mine.

The ECU is clearly marked if it's 7AFE or 4AFE.

Not sayin the others won't work tho, cuz they will. But just get the right one

How much do you expect the conversion to cost? DIY or take the parts to a shop?

I did mine myself, it can be done in a weekend...but gather up all your parts first. And It will be alot of work! The conversion could be done for less than $500 if u do it yourself. I spent $200 on my tranny, and all the other parts I got from the junk yard. A new clutch kit is about $100, resurface the flywheel. But again, it will be alot of work in a weekend if you don't know what your doing
