totaled corolla?

simple question: is this worth salvaging? the car is disabled and i leaked coolant everywhere.

EDIT: also, i don't know for what it's worth, but i bought the car only a few weeks ago, and the airbag did not deploy, nor did the dealer tell me anything about the airbags not being functional. any thoughts?

the reason your airbags didn't deploy is the sensor is below the area hit. (they are located behind the bumper) looks like you hit mid headlight and hood. in order to determine if it's salvageable you'll need to remove the hood, fender lights to see how far it's been pushed in. most times a good body shop can pull the damage out.
i've fixed a few cars with similar damage. one i had used my truck to pull the radiator support out, then used the scissor jack from the trunk to push the bent AC condenser back into shape.

just from the picture, looks like you'll need a bumper, mount, foam backing, bumper cover, turn signal, corner light, headlight, grill, fender, hood, hood hinge(possibly bent) and windshield (and radiator as you stated, as well as possibly the fan, and AC condenser and what not). what you'll want to do is price those parts from a junkyard. then you can determine if the car is worth saving. if you total everything and it comes up over $1k it may not be worth saving. i've bought some parts cars for $2-400 just because the front sheetmetal was nice, and the rear was hit hard. but then again i'll take EVERYTHING i can. motor, trans etc.

this is one of the car's i fixed. blown engine. and a wall fell on it. cost me $200 for the hood, fenders and lights.

just for laughs i put on a BZ touring front headlights and grill.

Unless you have some chops in the bodywork department, I wouldn't touch that car. That is a great deal of work. Inner fender is bent, possibly the firewall is out of wack. If those aren't pulled into line properly, you'll never get the car to align or track properly again.

I can see why you are on the fence and considering fixing it. I'm guessing the hidden damages and unexpected items will push it way over budget.

hey there.

In my opinion it's not worth it as you can probably buy another one for 800-1,500 dollars.

But if you consider parting it out before you let it go and it has a center arm rest or power mirrors i'd be interested in buying it off you. Message me if that becomes the case.

How many miles are on it? If the frame isnt bent then I would venture to say it isnt totaled but i am betting the frame is bent. Where in Indiana are you at?

i'm in fort wayne, indiana. the crame is both bent and crushed. what's worse, i had just bought the car, and lost the title in the confusion following the accident. i have no way to prove that the car really is mine and i'm trying to sell it for parts or junk it. any ideas?

ps. i know it's a late reply, work and school have been sneaking up on me all at once
