Vandalized

Came out to my car today to go to work, and someone kicked in my rear driver door and snapped off my antenna. was wondering if there were any alternate types of aftermarket antennas I could get that either automatically retract, or just don't stick out like the stock one (maybe similar to a shark fin)... I looked on ebay and all I could find was either obnoxious looking or stock replacement. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Damn, sorry to hear that. The JDM SE Limited and GT models have the antenna built into the rear glass, just under the rear defroster lines. Getting a whole rear window in from overseas would cost a fortune though, so an alternative would be to install a motorised aerial next to the trunk lid.

My car was keyed and I had the antenna snapped off the other day too. I just got a second-hand stock one put on at the shop as even they couldn't really find any non-stupid looking aftermarket ones.

Yeah, I live on Ohio State campus, so people just do this crap for no reason. I know if I replace it with another stock one it'll get broken again in a few weeks, months, etc...

I will agree with you, the ebay ones I could find looked a little... "ricer" ish. lol

That would be AMAZING to have, but I can imagine the cost would be astronomical, plus I'm sure I'd have to do some rewiring... If I were to do an aerial on the trunk, is there some sort of blank panel that goes over where the existing antenna is? Did Toyota make the 7th gen without a factory radio?

Yeah it would be a very costly thing to do, and then if someone broke your rear windscreen you'd be screwed. You might actually be able to get an aftermarket stick-on windscreen aerial. All of the 7th gen Corolla's came with at least a factory AM/FM radio as far as I know, so they were all equipped with an aerial. I guess the only way to hide the hole would be to bog it, sand it and paint it.
