1994 'rolla turn/hazard flasher problem

one of my son's friends wrecked the front end of his '94
corolla and i rebuilt it for him....i've done quite a few
and they are not to bad to do if the frame rail/horns aren't
bent any....there is a main wiring harness that is attached
to the radiator support that you have to be careful of but
it was undamaged....that being said,my issue is i replaced
the headlights, marker lights and turn signal lights with
brand spankin new'uns......the car looks great but there is
only one issue i'm not sure how to tackle.....the turn
signals flash fast (like there is a bulb out,but there isn't
any out),and the hazards flash normally....from what alldata
tells me/and from what i've known forever, they utilize the
same flasher....how can this be?.....of course i don't know
if it was doing it like that before, but i think its
something i'd like to figure out for future cars....any
ideas?....and yes i replaced ALL bulbs with new AGAIN....i
had NO wiring loose upon rebuilding the front end...no
grounds,no broken wires....nuttin...built aplenty of these
but NEVER had an issue like this before....any help is
appreciated....steve

bend the bulb contacts in the sockets up and out to make better contact with the bulbs. FRONT AND REAR.

You could try some contact greese on the bulbs, I think they sell it at O'Ryleys in ketchup packet size for less than 5 bucks.

not sure of the fix here.....

if the hazards work properly but the turn signals don't,why would connections and or dielectric silicone do anything different?....just curious....

Because hazard ignores the resistance of the circuit where as turn has outage detection. A high resistance can still light the bulb AND flash fast for an out bulb.

I had this happen to me before.

I'm not sure and I'm trying to remember for sure but this sounds close to what happened with my g/fs sons car except he also lost the dash lights. All the fuses, bulbs and contacts were fine and we ended up replacing the turn signal assembly to fix his issue. Be careful if you swap that out though as when I did his, I didn't notice it has cruise and installed a part that didn't have the cruise control on it
