i have a 93 corolla 5 speed. when i put the key in the ignition it shows the the door is open and the battery light is on but thats all. i turn the key to on and nothing happens. then i turn the key to start it and still nothing happens. it wont start it doesnt seem like anything is wrong with the starter it seems like it is in the ignition. any ideas of where to start?

Either battery is toast or the terminals are dirty.

Start with that since 90% of the time its one of those.

Well my cousin has an s10 and its also a 5speed and did the same thing tho come to find out it was a wire that connected to the starter. It had burnt up and it was actually between the battery terminal and the starter along the frame in a hard to find place. Hope this helps!
