3rd Generation How to Adjust the AC Belt ('97)

Quick question...I have to replace the idler pulley (noisy). I looked quick before it got dark and saw 2 bolts. The one in the center will take off the pulley. The one on top will adjust the adjust the belt (assuming I'm right). The question is is there a third bolt that locks the top adjustment bolt or the center bolt also acts as a lock? If so, I will just loosen the center bolt and then back off the top bolt till the belt comes off, then remove the center bolt and pulley...

u must 1st loosen the idler pulley nut (WHICH ALSO ACTS AS THE LOCK NUT) then u can turn that top bolt CW to tighten or CCW to loosen. that top bolt requires a long extension, at least 10inch or better yet, get a 20inch so u dont kill your back doing the job. once the tension is ok, then u tighten the center pulley nut to lock it all down.

When you replace those style of pulleys make sure you dont lose any washers and make sure they go back in the same place! The can fall off and get lost if you arent careful.
