gen 7 Inner Tie Rod Install Advice Request

Hello all.

I'm new to this forum and am refreshing my 94 corolla wagon (stick shift) front suspension. I had a really hard time finding this unique vehicle. So far I've done control arms, sway bar end links, ball joints, and sway bar d-bushings.

I was able to get one of the inner tie rods off so far with an offset 1.25" wrench, but there isn't enough clearance for me to tighten the rod to the rack. Does anyone know if the harbor freight inner tie rod removal/installation tool works for 93-97 corolla's?

Thanks.

I have the tool. It works for EVERYTHING! Just pick the "foot" thats fits best slip it over the end and tighten it down.

Thanks for the quick note about your experience with this tool. I will purchase one soon, so that I can complete my last FR suspension job.

trickiest part is bending the lock tabs back into place, I suggest using some red loc-tite on the threads just to be sure nothing moves when you're done. Use brake cleaner to ensure both surfaces are clean and dry.

Good thing you wont be replacing it TWICE since loctite says red gets loosened with the heat of a torch!

Thanks again for some additional tips. I was able to knock the lock washer tabs easily, but staking them locked could be tricky. I've been busy with family events this weekend, so no luck purchasing the harbor freight tool. I'm also debating buying a set of crow foot wrenches instead of the harbor freight inner tie rod removal/installation tool. Not decided yet, but thinking about this approach.
