Redline?

Anyone know the redline point on the 1.6 Liter?

I got a tachometer and need to know where to set it.

The one I got was a sunpro from Autozone for like 30$

I took one wire to the negative terminal on the battery then the RPM sensing one is in the diagnosis box in the IG- terminal
And I hooked the power up to the lights through a fuse.

Haven't hooked up the light for the tach yet.
Didn't have time to get it done.

6200 rpm is the factory - specified redline, to be exact. For the 4AFE engine, that is.

The redline starts at 6,250rpm, but on some automatic models they start a fraction earlier. However, depending on the condition of the engine, they're capable of getting to about 7,000rpm before valve bouncing.

A short video I made before swapping my last engine:

that's interesting, cause I never noticed how the different tachs had different redlines. The one I used from a Geo definitely had red at the 6k. Cool!

I noticed that the 96-97 Corolla had a redline of 5800rpm as indicated on the tachometer.

Just to be safe I set it to 6k

I don't wanna blow up another car this year xD

I've killed 2 so far...
1 Suzuki.-Cracked block within a half hour of owning it.
1 Cougar.-Transmission blew up in an epic way..

Hopefully not a Corolla.
