gen 7 Headlight Switch problem..

I recently purchased a 97 corolla, I needed to get my car inspected so i can get my inspection sticker im in texas btw. The mechanic would not give me the sticker due to my head light switch not locking in the highbeams. now the high beams work when i signal them but not when i want them to lock. now i do apologized if this thread has been posted before but there just to many too look. can anyone help me whats the process of replacing the switch, do i have to remove the steering wheel and airbags. your feed back would be really helpful thanks

Clean the switch, I'm sure there is a thread that explains how to do it.
I actually saw a thread like this one recently, search for it in the search bar, and it should say how to clean the switch and stuff their.
If that doesn't work then replace it and it should work.

yeah i need to try that, its gonna be hard since i have to remove the steering wheel, according to my research online. thanks

Its a pain in the ass, but its worth it.

Just remember to unhook the battery.
And not sure if it says you have to but if it says let the car sit without the battery for a length of time, do it, the last thing you want is a face full of airbag.
