Any of you know how a universal O2 sensor is installed?

I bought an O2 sensor flange adapter and a single-wire universal Bosch O2 sensor. It's supposed to be really easy to install as you just strip the wires, crimp, heat, and go. But I've been scouring the net for over an hour now trying to find out some useful, clear, step-by-step instructions on how it's done. Does ANYONE know if I twist both the blue and white wires together into the single black connector on the Bosch O2 sensor or if I only connect the blue wire and cap or cut the white wire?! Any help would be appreciated. Seriously, they actually couldn't have made this any HARDER to figure out, and I've read 3 different Bosch guides and some other random ones I found online. They even talk about matching up the wire colors but there's still nothing CLEAR about how exactly it's connected. Thanks in advance if you know what's up.

Update:

Connected blue cable and left white cable hanging. All good so far. No check engine light. And I thought the fact that the car was slow to respond until hitting 25MPH on 1st was due to my massive exhaust leak, but the RPM curve is actually flat now. Maybe still related to exhaust but the car is acting normal because the ECU reset? Only time will tell I guess.

You gotta go 60 or so miles before the o2 sensor actually can get a full ready and stuff.

So it might be just getting "broken in"
Hopefully it fixed it, but time will tell.

I can't tell from your posts whether you still have a problem or not.

Single-wire sensors are the old style without a heater so they take a lot longer to "light off" and start reading correctly because they rely solely on exhaust heat. It would have been better to get a direct-fit sensor for your car. They're maybe $5 more than a universal.

There is also no break-in period for O2 sensors. They work best when they are new and slowly degrade as they age.

The universal sensor is $18, adapter was $5. There is no direct fit sensor for less than $50 or so.
