gen 7 Testing a Cooling Fan Switch

After looking around online for a while and on the forum I didn't come up with much for testing a single blade fan switch (the one by the thermostat)
All I came up with is the numbers of what the Ohm rating should be at certain temperatures for a 92-97 firebird.. So the question is, if I wanted to test that switch are these numbers kinda universal to most cars? or Would the temp switch for the corolla likely have very different numbers? alternatively does anyone know offhand when they should activate the fan?

If these are in fact universal numbers then I figure others may find use of this as well so here it is! at least for a LT1 F-body these are the ratings for both sensors, the one in the pump and the one in the head..

ºC
ºF Ohms
100 212 177
90 194 241
80 176 332
70 158 467
60 140 667
50 122 973
45 133 1188
40 104 1459
35 95 1802
30 86 2238
25 77 2796
20 68 3520
15 59 4450
10 50 5670
5 41 7280
0 32 9420
-5 23 12300
-10 14 16180
-15 5 21450
-20 -4 28680
-30 -22 52700
-40 -40 100700
sadly I'm unsure of all the lil things to use to force the forum to make it how I put it in so it's a lil squished...

from my Haynes repair manual- sensor should have continuity below 180 deg.

If you pull the plug off the sensor the fan should run. if it doesnt there is the problem.

The values you quoted would be typical for a temperature GAUGE sensor.
