corolla starting issue

hey , i know im a noob but i've worked cars for a while professionally and at home but can't seem to figure this one out .
first i have a 95 corolla dx 1.8 4spd auto . it sounded like the stater was going on the car because it would click once and the lights all come on but it wouldnt start and then id try again and it would sound like it was gonna turn over and it wouldnt , then id try again and it would start. for a few days it did this . now it wont start at all. i had a new battery put in so its not that . i took off the starter thinking it was the solenoid so i got a used one from the jk yard same match and i could bring it back if i need to, but it wasnt that either. i also tryed a new starter relay and it wasnt that either, im just really stumped as what else it could be. it also had a kill switch that i rewired ,so that i could just start the car without pressing the button but that all fine also.

so .. lol i have no idea what else i could do to make this engine turn over i had replaced the timing belt and water and acess. belts, its been a bout 40k since the spark plugs cap and rotor were done

does any one have an idea of what could be the issue?

I would start checking for voltage at the starter. Find the place that does not have any and then trace back. The usual problem is that the copper contacts in the switchbox on the starter get worn out and cause a poor connection, but you probably checked that already.
Other than that it could be a bad ground to the starter, considering that it almost turned over but lacked the power to do it properly.

well thanks for the advice but i replaced the starter with a rebuilt one , the jk yard one ended up being a piece of crap it had a bad connection where the plastic connector for the solenoid connected. but i also put new battery clamps and cleaned all the connections since there was a lil bit of corrosion so problem solved thanks^
