slides tend to seize, if they are I recommend just getting semi loaded calipers and not dicking with trying to get them out, get the holes clean, etc since they'll seize up again.

It's just like any other front rotor, rear drum brake job.

I'd recommend www.techna-fit.com for the brake lines. Be sure you use a box ended wrench to loosen and tighten the lines, don't strip the bolts.

Full loaded caliper idea is a solid one. Rebuilding calipers and wheel cyl can be cheap and easy. You can also buy a new slide kit. Just compare the costs and check the condition of the parts you are rebuilding.

Using ceramic pads / shoes is much more affordable and might be an option for you.

Don't buy the part stores cheapest option on rotors and drums. They tend to be crap that doesn't last.

Don't forget to bleed properly when done.

Good luck

I actually thought the title was quite clever and it literally made me laugh out loud (a rarity these days). I wasn't the one who changed it, but it was funny while it lasted

VERY typical. No strange surprises with Toyota engineering. Check the condition of the brake lines CAREFULLY they do have a tendency to rust out. Some of that rust gets hidden under the black coating.
