Pop off the rear deck cover and/or look up into it from underneath in your trunk. The worst might happen is you may need to get some speaker mounts from the junkyard. There should be speaker grilles stickin up on the rear deck though, if that's not there, I don't even know. Could be a factory option or a modification by the user. You may need speaker mounts and a rear deck with grilles, or cut holes in your existing rear deck.

Note that car audio enthusiasts often don't use rear speakers because it ruins the 'stage'. The bigtime car audio freaks set up very loud component (mids and tweeters) in the front doors and then the sub in the trunk. No real need to mention any of this, just saying, it's an option if you're thinking about installing some REAL goodies, you don't even need rear speakers...

Sucky. Getting very strong 5.25s would be best, you just cut out the hole bigger and do some sort of makeshift bracketing, may be able to drill into the nearby plastic, haven't seen the speaker setup in a while. About to soon as one of my front speakers is rattling bad so I need to re-tighten it, might even need some of that speaker goo like the one that came with my JVCs, I heard it's butyl tape, might be getting some of that soon. You might want to look into that also to keep your customized speaker mounting from vibrating. Supposedly this stuff from home depot is butyl rubber: http://www.homedepot.com/Building-Ma...atalogId=10053

You can also get some of those 6x9s that come in boxes and put them on the rear deck. If you get two really strong ones and a little amp to give them about 50watts RMS per channel you won't need anything else. It's all bout your sound stage though, I like my stage to have plenty of mids and highs in the rear also, unlike the audiophiles I mentioned. I may change my mind when I try some strong component speakers (while keeping it 4") in the front though. I got my eyes on these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIAMOND-AUDI...item336c53f61e

You can also PM me your mailing info. $20 plus shipping and you can have the factory rear mounts with speaker grills and template of where to cut to make that work. Wiring should already be under deck.

I have 2 500w 6x9's in my rear deck xD
Just need to get an amp, not enough power out of my little pioneer to really move them

Mine had the factory 4 speaker for a while. I upgraded radio and I mounted amps/sub and a set of 4" separates up front with tweeters on the A-pillar. It sounded really good IMO. My back speakers died years later and I put in a better pair of JL Audio coax that were much more efficient than the prior ones (eclipse). It totally changed the sound stage and not in a good way. Louder definitely, still clear at that louder point, yup, but the sound stage and a lot of the highs now sounded like they were behind my head. It was like going to a concert and sitting backwards. I removed them and put others back in that didn't have the tweeter. I then replaced the fronts with JL's still with separate tweeter mounted low on A-pillar and loved it. The only part that would have made it better would be if I had changed the mounting and gone 5.25" like suggested.

As for the "I have 2 500w 6x9's in my rear deck xD
Just need to get an amp, not enough power out of my little pioneer to really move them" you have much to learn in the audio arena. Your gettin' ripped off. You could have some 1000W ones for $42!!! http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-HFI69CX.html but you might want expand the true knowledge base some and read up here to start http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/lea.../speakers.html

Many of the seriously expensive, audiophile speakers like this (http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=508) only handle 100W RMS (160 peak) and the guys drive them with max 150W. These are the guys doing audio competitions for sound quality. Sorry to say but what you got is the flashy advertising to make somebody who doesn't know think they got stuff that's better than sliced bread or indoor plumbing. Now getting a lot of power to proper subs in proper boxes will make big changes but it depends on what you are looking for, ground shaking 2 block away bass, or great range concert hall detail and clarity.

I can tell you that with quality stuff with 50-60 watts on each channel and a nice sub powered accordingly, you can make yourself deaf really quick.

Front mounting plates for a '93 set for 4" from factory to help you remember. Make sure you don't get real deep speakers because if you do you need to space them so they don't hit window . That tab on the back of the sideways one is about as far as you get until crunch time (about 1.5" deep currently you can probably squeeze 1.75"). I had tried some Boston Acoustics and they were 2" deep. Didn't realize until I put the whole door back together and tried to roll window down. Of course that needs to be balanced out so you don't hit the door panel either and get a bad rattle.
