radio dome light dont work

radio and dome light don't work. Radio/cig lite fuse is fine. Cig liter works. Dome fuse blows when replaced leading to smell of burning wire (?) in cab. seems like a wiring issue (I guess, I am a novice), what are my next steps? can i fix myself? I don't want to put a lot of $ in it as it is a 96 but it is SO quiet in the car now! Any help in appreciated.

Hey, probably just a bent tab in the dome light bulb connection. Most likely the positive touching the roof skin causing it to ground out and blow the fuse. I'd just pop the dome cover off and have a look in there.

Anyway you can pinpoint where the smell is coming from? I'd use my nose around the radio and dome. Hopefully its not worn wires.
