Dealing with a 1997 1.6L auto corolla that intermittently wont start.
Turn the key and nothing happens at all. Battery is new, connections are good, starter is good.
if you jiggle the gear shift in neutral position while holding the key in the start position it will start, leading me to believe its a neutral safety interlock/PRNDL switch problem
So I replaced the neutral safety / PRNDL switch on the transmission.
problem still happens sometimes. I've adjusted the switch a few times and that still hasn't solved the problem.
It only seems to happen when the vehicle has been driven for a while and is hot.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has dealt with this before, if there is a common problem I'm missing, if theres a Tech service bulletin pertaining to this etc...
thinking of inspecting the harness wiring, fuse box etc...
does anyone have a link to a free online manual? Id like to have a look at the wiring diagram.
Thanks in advance for any help.
