gen 7 Breaking in new head cylinder

I blew my head gasket a while back and threw 3 of my cylinders out of compression and also somehow burnt my valves without the engine overheating...Not sure why or how it happened, the engine had no more than 120,000 kms on it..though it had been sitting for several years.

Anywho, I had my head cylinder reconditioned with new valves and im running on 4 cylinders again instead of 1.

I want to know if I have to take it easy for a bit to break in the new head cylinder and for how long (how many kilometers or miles do i need to put on the engine before its broke in)?

Does it even need to be broken in? Or can i just let er loose? I got a tac installed today and it looks sick, but should also help me keep an eye on the rpm.

Also, I havnt looked this up yet, but is the redline for 97 corolla 1.8 7afe @ 5800 rpm?

Nah, run the engine normally.
But I would recheck valve clearance after 3K miles after they have seated.

I agree. Nothing needs breaking in. Rock On!
