Since you have lowering springs definitely get Tokico Blues.

KYB GR2's aren't really meant for lowering, but are rather an OEM replacement strut.

I believe Excel G's are better than GR2s for lowering suspensions, or was it the other way around? lol

Look up both KYB lines, either way they will be more budget conscious than the Tokicos.

GR2 is definitely a "performance" shock, so it is indeed much better than using stock Monroe or similar replacements on a lowered car. Ideally, your shocks would have a different perch to match the lowered springs.

They're both the same. The only difference aside from the name is that GR2's are silver and Excel G's are black.

I guess you can probably get away with a mild lowering job, like 1.5" or less. Wouldn't really recommend it for long term though. GR2's ride noticeably softer than Tokico HP's.

Yeah, GR-2 are better than stock, and Tokicos are better than GR-2. You get what you pay for.

Depends if you want to spend the money. It will work either way. It's up to you.

Excel-Gs are the de-rigeur shock in Aus for pretty much all Corollas when it comes to modified suspension: they're relatively cheap, good quality, peform well enough, and significantly easier/cheaper to get hold of than Jap/Euro brands. When the main opposition is either Gabriel or Pedders I'd go KYB any day of the week.
