Axle problem

I dont know if it's related but it all started after I replaced all the motor mounts. The day after that when I parked my corolla I noticed fluid was dripping out and it looked like trans fluid. The mechanic raised up the car and we saw that the axle had come out of the transmission. when he took out the axle that little black ring thats on the axle was missing and we couldnt find it. the mechanic said it might be somewhere inside the trans. so i bought a brand new axle from advance auto and the mechanic installed it. about 2-3 days after i noticed small drips of trans fluid under the car and when i took it back to the mechanic, he raised up the car and it looked like the axle was coming out again. so he pushed it back, but everytime he would turn the wheel the axle would come out a little bit again. evern since then i hear "clickin, knoking sound" when i make right turns and there is seems to be alot of noise coming from the driver side axle especially at higher speeds. also it seems to be leaking trans fluid. so whats causing all this? i'm really fed up. thanks and srrry for the long post.

The ring on the tranny end of the axle keeps the axle from popping out so you need it. Is the axle pushed in all the way and snap in place? Your axle seals could be bad if it's leaking transmission fluid.
