UK ★ The AE-202 Project ★

so you guys know my car....

its currently a turbo'd corolla. but i want to go n/a again.. so decided to buy a 3s-ge and drop it in.

going to be getting the engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, and one set driveshafts from a gen 6 Celica (ST-202), another set of driveshafts from a gen 5 Celica (St182), rav4 mount and avensis mount.

the following is a list of things I've got, will be adding things to it when i get the parts....

Engine and box:

95 Celica ST-202 3S-GE engine
S54 Box

ECU & Wiring:

Standard 93 corolla 4E-FE Engine loom
Full 95 Celica ST-202 engine loom

Engine Mounts to fit Ae101 / E10:

timing belt side engine mount use a Rav4 3sfe mount.

Modified 4efe gearbox mount

Front mount use celica mount

Rear mount use std corolla but redrill and use a few washers.

Driveshafts:

Custom Driveshafts

Fuel Pump:

Standard

Brakes:

Avensis Twin Pot calipers (unsure if they fit)

Cooling:

Celica ST-202 Rad

ishaq

pic of standard corolla 1.3 4efe timing belt side mount

pic of standard corolla 1.3 4efe gearbox side mount

whilst i was at the scrapyard picking up my rav4 mount, they were taking a corolla apart, so i saw an opportue moment to see if the rav4 mount would fit corolla chassis...

it fits

pics of some of the parts i have collected so far...

standard 4efe loom

fuse box

Rear disc conversion and St182 driveshafts (in the white bags)

Rav4 mount

oil sandwich plate

went to the scrapyard today and bought 2 things

Avensis 2.0 3s-fe Gearbox Mount

Avensis Twin-Pot Calipers and carriers (hope these fit)

afew updates...

bare engine bay lol.. running on hopes and dreams :P

3s-ge engine

s54 box

old 4e-fte

c160 (6 speed box)

updates...
engine is in but quite afew mods needed doing for the mounts
powersteering sorted
fueling system sorted
gear linkages sorted
rad needs lowering as it sits a little too high

getting custom driveshafts made as celica ones dont fit...

wiring starting tomorow too....

PICS of engine in the car

it is a VERY VERY tight fit lol

Technically according to the Toyota numbering codes... your car would most likely be an SE101 or SE102, the S signifying the 3SGE motor (as the A in AE would signify a 4A motor)... to be correct your car was an EE101 (or EE100 I think, the first E pointing to the fact that you had a 4E motor and not a 4A motor.

Nice ride, makes me want to keep the AE for longer than this winter.

bought this filter for cheap

used celica gear linkages... cut and weld 1 as it was tooo long (just a temp fix at the min)

my clocks

and been scapping the underside of my car ALOT, this maybe the reason...

yeah this engine is n/a

it has had 3 different engines in 2 years lol
4efe (factory 1331cc) then 4efte (turbo'd 1331cc) and now the 3S-GE (1998cc)

i have been told that the engine can hold upto 220ish hp n/a, so more mods really lol, proper air flow system, adjust timing, and probably a remap on a standalone ecu

sorted abit of the wiriing out today and added an adjustable strutbar

and driving home today and saw this and thought id take some pics

took some pics and edited one but dont know which one i like lol

this:

or this:

and also got these through the post today

25mm Front ARB bushes

and red anodised type paint for my alloys (hopefully this will work)

more pics

more pics of the cover, you can see its still a work in progress, but it does the job at the min, will pull it off when weathers warmer and smooth it over with filler and then add a fan on it to keep the ecu cool

also saw this trdd plaque on ebay and thought it would look cool, so i bought one..

i got the anodised paint and decided to paint the wheels... all im going to say is i am most definetly not the best guy to be painting these alloys but oh well lol

before...

after...

basically the spray is like a tint, it works best with the chrome under it... the black bits are still there because when i tryed to sand it down it started to get worse so just left it and painted over it...
hopefully in the near future il give the wheel to a metal polisher so he can bring out the shine/ chrome and il paint over it again..

heres the other wheel

before..

after...

and some info about the TOM'S New Actions

painted the rad brackets tooo

really sick and tired of the rust tooo

most probably going to have to get another panel cut & welded in

some pics from today
