2001 rear shock on a 1997 ?

Rear shock application :

Monroe : same part number for 1993 - 2002
KYB also from 1993 to 2002.

OME (LH)

48540-19085 - 06/1992-03/1997

48540-A9060 - 08/1997-12/2001

Well, here the topic :

I plan to buy a 1997 Corolla as a winter beater. It need rear shock. ! also own a 2001 Corolla. That would be two hits with one stone if I install new shock on my 2001 and take the old one from it and put it on the 1997...

Well, I think so... any thought on that ?

Suspension is interchangable between 7th & 8th Gen. So yes you can upgrade your 8th gen and hand me down your 7th gen

That'll work. The struts are compatible.
