Question rs3000 replacement

My remote door locks no longer work. I've narrowed it down to either the rs3000 computer being dead or my remote is dead. I replaced the battery on the remote and the light shines really brightly, so I'm going to start by replacing the rs3000, even though I can't be sure. Before I go ahead and order one off ebay, I wanted to ask people who have experience with the rs3000:

1. is it plug and play?
As in can I just re-pair my fob to the unit and it'll be good to go

2. Where is/are the fuse(s) for the alarm system?
I want to check that before I pull the trigger on a new rs3000. I'm inclined to say the fuses are fine since the LED on the center console responds to pressing the button on the rs3000 ecu, so it is receiving power.

Thanks guys. Neither my remote nor keys work to unlock the doors at the moment. This thing is really annoying but I keep putting it off.

I personally dont want the annoyance of a poorly made piece of electronics. So many of these alarms/unlockers, etc are crap or the install is crap so they work for a while and then totally mess with the cars electronics.

Others may know about your specific model, or more research may help you find a reliable model.

Yes, as far as I know. Here's the original user manual for the VIP RS3000. Have a read of the 'Remote Control Programming' section:

You showed me this last time and I tried everything, which is how I came to the conclusion that it's a hardware malfunction. I might just get the control unit and fob together off eBay and save myself the trouble. It's easier than taking the damn door panels off to replace my key cylinders, and not that much more expensive. Thanks.
