Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

What size socket do I need for the 1.8L crankshaft pulley bolt? 19mm? I bought a 3/4" impact wrench and I wanted to buy airtool sockets instead of damaging my regular sockets.

Thanks

you can get a full set of stanley impact sockets at wal-mart for like $20-$25. it will certainly have the size you need.

The problem is my impact wrench is a 3/4" fit. The socket sets for 3/4" are a bit more expensive. I guess what I can do is lift the car and take the wheel off and see what size it is. I was hoping someone here knew the size off of top of their head.

Harbor Freight sells individual sockets. I rather spend 4 bucks on a single socket than buy a 60 dollar set.

I actually just replaced that pulley and it's a 21mm bolt that holds it on

I did mine and it was 17mm, the DIY says its 17mm and no one has complained about it, so I'm fairly certain it is 17mm from the factory.

Could you be mistaken or the 21mm was a replacement?

OK so I found you gus today because the crankshaft pulley came off of mine today. 1993 corolla has an "A" in the 4th digit of VIN. What does the bolt look like? I can not see any threaded area on the nose of my crankshaft. About half an inch in, I can feel a smooth flat area. It feels machined. It does not feel like a broke off bolt is remaining in there. But I wonder how long the shoulder is on the bolt and is this really the bolt broke off in there where the threads start?

Ok so i guess there should also be a harmonic balancer as well? I guess that came off as well ? The lower part of the timing chain cover is still on over the crank. Is the balancer behind the cover? And i do not see that the crank nose is slotted for a key. I am so lost here. Any ideas?

You sound way-over-your-head lost. Since you appear to not even know what parts should be there you should have someone who knows engines work on your car.
