aftermarket stereo wiring question

I bought an after market stereo, but for illumination it only has one orange/white wire coming out of it. The corolla harness has only an orange wire coming out of it.

Is the orange/white supposed to connect to the orange on the corolla harness?

An orange wire with a white stripe should be for the dimmer while a solid orange wire is for illumination. (That's the standard color code) Is the orange wire on the Corolla harness one of those adapter or are you referring to the factory wiring? Because I don't recall Toyota using Orange in their audio wiring. Check the factory wiring and it should run from green (Toyota's color for illumination) to solid orange on the headunit.

yeah that's the standard that's why I am confused.

here's the harness i have: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/390368359837?...ht_4281wt_1344

in the stereo's (DEH P4000UB) installation guide: it says to connect it's orange/white wire to the "lighting switch terminal"

Since both wires are positive supply voltage lines, it won't hurt to just hook them up and see what happens. Alternatively, you can use a voltmeter to check the voltage on the wire coming from the car (how it behaves).
