You can get the part from NAPA. I think mine was about 40.00. Do you have an impact wrench? If so it will make the job easier. Is the Geo a 1.6?

With impact:

Remove all belts.

Remove the plastic splash guard in the wheel well.

Prior to raising the vehicle (jacks) turn the wheel to the right, away from the engine block.
(This will allow access to the bolt without removing the wheel) It is possible to get to it from there.

You may need to get a pulley puller to remove the balancer.

The balancer can go on one way due to a slotted key-way. Similar to a woodruff key, but not semicircular.

When you replace the new balancer, maneuver it into position, DON"T FORCE IT, and slide it onto the slot.

Thread the bolt back on as far as you can without the impact and tighten; follow up with the impact wrench.

WITHOUT IMPACT WRENCH:

The same except for needing to keep the flywheel from moving when you remove the bolt.

I believe the manual stipulates taking the starter off to get to it.

Use something like a screw driver as a wedge to keep the flywheel stationary. This method will probably require two people.

Caveat: This forum has great information! If you don't have access to an impact, ask around on here to see if there is a better method.

Good luck.
