Canada Where does this go?

I had planned to remove the upper part to the stock air intake (or whatever that black thing is that is tucked under the battery and fuse boxes that leads into the stock air filter box)...it just looks stupid in there now with a short ram....I pretty much had it out til I noticed it connects to something undertneith? Does this have anything to do with the air conditioning/heating system? I dont want to loose my heat in these times

No, you're fine to remove it if you're using an aftermarket intake. It only connects to a resonator chamber.

OK, great to know! I still want to remove it for looks, but I think I may want to put it back in the future for an emissions test (if I still have this car).

and just out of curiosity, why is there a resonator chamber leading into the pre-air filter box? what purpose does it serve? Should I plug the hole and keep it clean?

Shouldn't do anything to affect emissions. I've noticed with the CAI that there's a noticable growl right around 2250 RPM, most likely this is what that resonator box was tuned to eliminate.

Incidentally, the under-fender resonator chamber is a bitch and a half to remove.

Not really, just pull the fender liner out when you have the wheel off and go at it, or when the bumper is off.
