crank shifted about 10 degrees during timing belt change

I know your not suppose to rotate the crank counterclockwise but if its only off 10 degrees will it hurt? And if I do have to turn it clockwise is one full turn matching the crank pulley and 0 degrees on the cover top dead center? Any tips on keeping the crank from moving while installing the new belt. This is my first timing belt.
Thanks

Sometimes it can move as you work on it. Just rotate it back where it belongs. After installation and tensioning rotate a few times and make sure your marks line up like they should.

the key way should be directly upright. Just move it back to the correct position without rotating it. Just move it back slightly. If you rotate it, you will have to make sure #1 cylinder is TDC. You can use a couple long extensions and remove the #1 cylinder spark plug. Stick the extension in the hole. And as you turn the crank, watch for it to come up and down. Wait till it comes up as high as possible. This is will be TDC.
