problems with mounting 8th gen sideskirts

anyone have any experience with this? i dont do body work. the picture looks fine but if i bolt the skirt to the bottom of the car using the designated spots on the skirt, the skirt tilts away from the car and bows out in the middle. if i press the skirt against the car so it looks flush the bottom mounting part is angled toward the ground. im thinking of cutting all that off. any modifications to do the install?

I figured that would need to happen. I even tried to bend it up using a heat gun. Also, did you take off the rubber moulding too?

You actually need the mounting kit to mount it properly... there would be metal spacers and whatnot, to keep the skirt from mounting directly to the bottom of the car.

Usually, you don't need to put bolts under there like that... just on the ends should be fine. On the JDM skirts I used, I did use some screws up into the rubber bits, but only tightened enough to hold, not pull the skirts to touch the bottom of the car.

I'm just going to cut them and screw them on the ends like my old sideskirts on the prizm.

the way i did mine was i cut away mentioned area, screws at the ends and i actually drilled 3 holes into the rocker panel and used the clips on the skirts to keep it flush with the body

The easiest solution is to just sell them to me.

or if you don't want to drill holes on the side like me then you can use double sided tape=D to hold them flush

got them off here from a guy in canada. they actually sit on the lip under the doors. very quality product if you can find them. from what i've learned they are VERY hard to find. i sold them to a friend that's building a show car. to me they were nice, but my car isn't low enough to make the look.
