Engine with no egr?

I have a 95 corolla with a 1.6 and 3speed auto. The car runs great when driving but when first started it seems like it wants to stall if i give it too much gas at adle till it warms up then it will rev up fine. Also when idling it sounds like it has a miss and if at a stop light with the brake depressed it makes a really bad vibration till you start moving again. I pulled into a local mechanic and he came out and looked and listened. He removed the intake tube and covered the throttle body and the engine ran rough but didnt stall. He said this means theres a vaccum leak . he said it would have stalled if there was no vaccum leak. I got 2 cans of starting fluid and sprayed every vaccum line, intake connection and gaskets and can not find the leak. I looked in the haynes manual for a vaccum diagram but my engine is different as it has no egr or a place for it. Is this possible? It also has 1 thin hard plastic vaccum line on top of the throttle body and every other one ive seen has 2. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW it has 108,000 miles and has tons of power when driving but has the vibration problem at idle or stop.

A '95 Corolla would likely be with OBD1 ECU (computer) and *not* OBD2, and thus no EGR. OBD2 and EGR were fitted to '96 and later models. Possibly late '95 as well, but I am not sure.

EGR depends if it was California emissions or not, later on all models were I think.
