Power steering hose leak

Hello
I have a toyota corolla 93 7AFE engine. I traced the power steering leak to the high pressure hose. It is a small hole on the rubber part of the hose.
Is there a way to patch this without having to remove the hose (I heard its a pain to replace)
Thanks

Replacing it ain't that hard, you just don't have alot of room to work with... you can remove the left front wheel and unbolt it... on the other side remove the clamp and you're done Be advised, it can be a tad bit messy... since you can't really drain it easily

Can I do this without removing the wheel?

Yes indeed, as for removing the wheel... you can try it, but I recommend removing it... It's just four bolts and gives you the space you need...

I did mine from the top, was not that hard. I purchased a hose on eBay, was about $35.00 & a direct replacement..

Used is NOT worth the headache of having to replace it again.

I agree. There might be room to get to it from the top. I may have to remove the air filter housing. Is that what you did?
I will check eBay, that's a great idea pal...

One more question
Do you know for the 93 model 1.8 L 7AFE if the hose has a flare fitting or an O-ring type fitting?
I don't want to buy the wrong hose
Thanks

If they're asking you that, then I don't think they have the right hose since Toyota only uses one kind for the past few decades.

If your car was built in America, it'll use the O ring type. If built in Japan, it uses a flare fitting.
You got a real good chance it was built in America, but look at your VIN - the first digit will be a J if it was built in Japan.

I've never ran across a Toyota with a flare fitting, even some of the J vin Lexus I've worked on.
